Bark Tanned Icelandic Sheepskin | Topo

This is our second year with bark tanned hides and wow! What a difference! The leather and fleece are so soft!

Lose yourself in 6.5-7" locks of gently brushed Icelandic lamb fleece. The fleece is caramel brown with white spots. The fleece on this hide is so beautiful!

The leather is super soft and supple and measures 21" x 30". Because the leather was thin, there are 8 small holes measuring less than 1" and a 3" tear from the tanning that are well hidden by the thick fleece. The leather is very thin and the finish not as smooth as other hides because of how fine it is. But it's sooo soft and flexible!

Our hides are naturally bark tanned by an incredible small tannery in our home state of Wisconsin. This results in a softer leather and fleece. Our sheep are raised with love, and for the few destined for the freezer, we honor their lives by using the whole animal.
