Charcoal Icelandic 2-Ply DK Yarn | 4 oz | 250 Yards

Our Icelandic yarn comes from the fleece of a single sheep and is the natural color of each animal. In the fall we shear for the cleanest fleece, and then send it to a small Midwestern fiber mill for spinning.

Icelandics are a double coated breed, with a fluffy, soft undercoat called the thel, and a strong, mohair-like topcoat called the tog. This yarn is a combination of the two to create a durable and warm yarn that is perfect for your projects.

This particular yarn is 250 yards of 2-ply DK yarn in a rich charcoal grey. Each skein weighs 4 oz. We also have one 190 yard skein.

This batch is from our Icelandic-cross wether Finnagain. All our sheep are grass-fed, not sprayed with chemicals, and the fleece is ethically sourced as we have a very gentle shearer.
