Handcrafted Nalbinding Needles

Hand carved wooden nalbinding needles. No two needles are alike and are either hickory, pecan, oak, walnut, and probably others in the mix. Carved by Wrought in Wood in formerly Austin, Texas and now in France.

Available in one, two and three-eyed needles. The more eyes, the longer the needle. The one-eye tend to range from two to four inches, the two-eye range from three to five inches, and the three-eye range from four to six inches.

Nalbinding is an ancient craft different from knitting and crocheting. Knots are tied so if cut or if there is a hole, the fabric will not unravel. Icelandic wool is a natural fiber to use in nalbinding. If just getting started, I do recommend a chunky, light colored wool year to learn with.
